Last year, Scottish Widows Bank launched their Offset Calculator for intermediaries. They're pleased to tell you that they've developed two new features to help you and your clients get the most out of this interactive tool:
- You can now download the Offset Calculator on to your computer/laptop. This lets you access the calculator quickly and easily.
- Once downloaded, you can use the Offset Calculator even when you have no internet access. This is because it will now 'store' the interest rates that were available last time you used the Offset Calculator whilst connected to the internet.
Downloading the calculator onto your computer
It's easy to download the Offset Calculator onto your computer:
- Open the Offset Calculator by clicking here (you must be connected to the internet).
- Follow the instructions to download Microsoft Silverlight 3 (this is an updated version of the software needed to run the Offset Calculator).
- Click on 'Install on my computer' at the bottom left of the Offset Calculator screen.
- Choose the shortcut link(s) for your Offset Calculator - you can select your desktop and/or start menu.
Using the calculator offline
If you use the Offset Calculator when offline, we recommend you update it regularly to ensure the rates are accurate. To keep the rates updated, all you need to do is open your Offset Calculator from your desktop or start menu whilst connected to the internet. If new rates are available, follow the simple instructions provided.
