Turning social posts into real conversations (and real clients)

Let’s start with something that you may not have spent too much time thinking about: social media is one of the biggest opportunities for financial advisers to raise their profile, build trust and position their business in front of the people you want to reach.

LinkedIn. Facebook. Instagram. It’s where clients hang out. Where referrals often start, and where expertise can instill trust – without needing to launch into a sales pitch.

Done well, social media is a powerful platform for you to showcase what you know, how you think and what it’s like to work with you. And that’s powerful.

But let’s be honest… it isn’t always easy.

For many advisers, social media still feels like a completely different world. One that’s fast‑moving, slightly overwhelming, and surprisingly time‑consuming. When you’re busy helping clients achieve their financial goals, staying on top of posts, platforms, and algorithms can feel like just another thing vying for your attention – which, let’s be honest, is better spent servicing clients!

That’s exactly why we have created a new six‑week social media course for existing and new PMS members.

Introducing Turning Content into Clients – a practical, adviser‑focused course designed to strip social media back to what actually matters, and show you how to use it with confidence, consistency, all while staying compliant.

A course designed to combat social media headaches

Turning Content into Clients launches on Friday 12 June and runs over six consecutive Fridays, with one‑hour sessions from 10am to 11am.

The purpose of the course is simple. It will:

  • Remove friction

  • Build confidence

  • Improve skills

  • And turn social media into something manageable, repeatable and scalable

It won’t feel like a box-ticking exercise, a course where you’ll spend a few hours, learn a few tricks of the trade, then forget all about it the following month. Turning Content into Clients gives advisers solid advice to build the foundations of strong social media so that it becomes a simple, essential part of your routine.

No gimmicks. No unnecessary complexity. Just clear, practical guidance that fits around real adviser workloads.

Why we created this course in the first place

Advisers today can feel stretched for time. It can even sometimes be difficult to know where to focus when there’s client relationship building, admin, compliance, regulation, even day-to-day operations all competing for your time.

Responsibilities quickly pile up. At times it can feel like a juggling act. And social media is, more often than not, the ball that’s dropped. Not because advisers don’t see its value – but because posting consistently and correctly can feel like a big investment of time and energy.

And we’ve heard that loud and clear from members. Many advisers have told us things like:

“I know I should be doing more on social media… I just don’t know where to start, or how to do it properly.”

Feedback like this has shaped the course. You spoke. We listened.

Turning Content into Clients isn’t about teaching everything there is to know about social media. It’s about covering the essentials – the bits that really move the needle. It’s a snapshot rather than a deep dive. A practical shortcut, not a theory lesson.

By the end of the course, advisers will be better equipped to:

  • Understand what actually works on social media right now

  • Create content more efficiently (and in bulk)

  • Reduce time spent thinking, researching and second‑guessing

  • Build a visible, professional presence people engage with

  • Stay compliant without killing creativity

What the course covers (in plain English)

This course is about making social media easier – not busier. Below is an overview of what advisers can expect to cover across the six sessions:

  • How to create a social media system that actually fits your working life

  • What the right content looks like for financial advisers

  • Turning one idea into a full week (or month) of posts

  • Understanding what audiences respond to and engage with

  • Cutting down research time dramatically

  • Creating reusable templates to save time week after week

A big focus throughout the course is on shortcuts. These small changes can help you plan and create content, turning social media into a 20‑minute task rather than a half‑day headache.

A course you can dip in and out of

Although it’s a six‑week course, there’s no expectation that everyone will attend every session.

Each session is designed to stand on its own, covering a specific topic. That means you can:

  • Attend all six

  • Pick the sessions most relevant to you

  • Or dip in whenever it suits your diary

That said, we’d strongly recommend sessions two and five – they’re the ones where most of the strategy and practical application comes together. And if you miss a live session? Don’t worry. You won’t miss out.

Catch up anytime

Every session will be recorded and uploaded to the Your Learning Hub.

This means you’ll be able to:

  • Watch back sessions you miss

  • Revisit sections you want to reinforce

  • Use the content as a refresher later

New advisers to PMS will also have access, so new members to your team can also learn even if they join long after the course has finished.

Keeping up with the fast‑moving social media world

One of the most frustrating things about social media is how quickly it changes. What works today might quietly stop working next month.

Remember: algorithms shift, content formats change, and audience behaviour evolve.  Platforms rise, fall, and reinvent themselves (Twitter becoming ‘X’ or, what seems like every teenager in the UK having TikTok are great examples). Staying on top of all this can feel like a job in itself – and for advisers, that simply isn’t realistic.

Which is why this course isn’t a one‑off.

Quarterly social media update sessions

Once the six‑week Turning Content into Clients course wraps up, Chris will host quarterly update sessions to keep advisers up to speed on:

  • Algorithm changes

  • Emerging content formats

  • Shifts in audience behaviour

  • Updated best practice for advisers

These sessions help advisers stay current without spending hours researching trends or second‑guessing what still works.

Built for advisers – not social media marketers

This course was built with the realities of working adviser life firmly in mind by acknowledging the:

  • Limited time

  • High compliance standards

  • The need to sound professional

  • The importance of trust and credibility

Turning Content into Clients isn’t about increasing workload – it’s about using time more effectively. Helping advisers get better results from less effort.

Most importantly, it helps advisers feel more confident every time they post, knowing their content is:

  • Clear

  • Compliant

  • Professional

  • And making an impact

Meet your host: Chris Targett

Leading the course is Chris Targett, founder of Social for Brokers and a well‑known name in the mortgage and financial advice space. Chris works closely with advisers to help them grow their social media presence with content that’s compliant, engaging and genuinely useful.

He brings:

  • A deep understanding of the adviser market

  • Real‑world examples of what works

  • Simple frameworks that can be used immediately

  • A strong belief that consistency beats perfection every time

Chris believes advisers don’t need more noise. They need clearer shortcuts, smarter systems, and a realistic approach they can stick with. That’s exactly what this course delivers.

A small commitment – with a big payoff

Social media doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, confusing, or like a drain on your time. With the right guidance, clearer approvals, and some practical shortcuts, it can become a powerful way to promote who you are and what you do.

Turning Content into Clients gives advisers the tools, structure and ongoing support to create valuable content, show up consistently, and grow their businesses with confidence.
