Despite becoming increasingly popular, bridging loans are one of the more misunderstood forms of finance – particularly if you’re new to the industry or haven’t turned your hand to bridging finance yet. The market is constantly changing, and so are the ways in which brokers can use bridging finance for their clients.
In this event, Together’s head of clubs and networks, Nick Parker and BDM, Tony Grillo explore the fundamentals of the short-term finance market to help you understand how a bridging loan works, differences between short-term and long-term finance, and situations where bridging finance might be a suitable option.
Together have recently partnered with The Financial Intermediary & Broker Association (FIBA), The Association of Short Term Lenders (ASTL) and The London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) in contributing to a new “Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance” programme and are delighted to bring this webinar broadly based on the learning module they have produced.

Since 2008, the regulator has repeatedly raised concerns about the quality of advice on pension switching.
Although the regulator has changed, the suitability of advice issues has remained the same.
This presentation will look at what are the main regulatory concerns with pension switching and how you can overcome these.
The session will also include what the regulator considers are suitable reasons for your client to switch, what you need to consider with the ceding scheme, what research they expect you to carry out and where you can easily access the information.
Value for money is very much a hot topic for the FCA so we’ll consider questions we should ask ourselves before determining whether the switch should proceed or not.
We’ll finish by looking to the future and consider how recent announcements by the Regulator on their expectations when providing pension transfer and at retirement advice may impact on your pension switching procedures.
This session will earn you up to 60 mins CPD.
Learning outcomes
- Be able to document your advice process in line with the requirements of the regulator.
- Be able to identify the relevant risk factors associated with pension switching.
- Be able to identify current opportunities and potential future challenges for pension switch clients including the consumer duty.
